Working together for greater impact
The Health Foundation knows building consensus and encouraging cooperation isn't always easy. But working together creates greater results than one organization working by itself. In the past two decades, The Health Foundation has co-founded three programs that now serve as community resources in their own right.
The Indiana AIDS Fund is a private philanthropic fundraising program of The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis dedicated to supporting HIV prevention and services programs throughout Indiana. The Indiana AIDS Fund's goal is to build long-term alliances between Indiana's philanthropic community and HIV/AIDS education and service providers by engaging community leaders in the fight against AIDS.
FitCity's mission is to provide children and adolescents, and their caregivers, in an eight-county region (Marion and seven surrounding counties) with messages about obesity, good nutrition, physical activity and healthy weight, and prompt them to be more active and eat healthier. The campaign goal is to connect people to appropriate resources through mass and targeted communications strategies, particularly in communities that traditionally are underserved and at increased risk.
Learning Well, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health, well-being and school performance of students in Marion County, Indiana, through improved access to integrated preventative and primary health care services provided by collaborative partnerships. These services are provided in nearly 90 school-based health clinics in public, charter and parochial school districts.
